I have come to the conclusion that, when photographing children, the first 15 minutes are either the best...or the worst. In those first 15 minutes you have the whole interesting-stranger-thing going for you. Most of time this captivates the wee ones and you have 15 minutes where they are willing to sit where you suggest, tell you stories all about their life and share their honest-to-goodness, real smiles. On the other hand, there are the children like Xander here, that are what I like to call, slow-to-warm.
Luckily, a little face pulling and trick showing
followed by some HILARIOUS jokes (made by the parentals, not me, my jokes are much to lame) and some promises for a happy meal after pictures
seem to warm them right up.
Awe, that smile. I love my job.
Now, how about some pictures of Xander man's family? I know his mama is dying for a sneak peak.
Gorgeous, aren't they?!
